- Soul of CHILDHOPE Community
The children that CHILDHOPE-ZAMBIA is supporting
CHILDHOPE-ZAMBIA currently has over 3,600 children being
supported. CHILDHOPE activities are located in Mazabuka,
Monze and Choma districts in Zambia. Under the sponsorship
programme, CHILDHOPE has over 350 children. The sponsorship
programme for CHILDHOPE started in May, 2010 and the response
from the sponsors has been overwhelming. CHILDHOPE has home
and centre based Early Childhood Care Development and education
programmes. CHILDHOPE works with orphans and vulnerable
children including the disabled children who are the most
marginalised in the rural areas of Zambia. The organisation
also works with the low vision and blind children in the
rural areas of Zambia.
The children attending ECCDE and basic school are fed and
supported by CHILDHOPE while residing with their guardians
who mostly are grandparents and women-headed households
that are very poor and can’t afford helping the children.
CHILDHOPE encourages the children to be staying with their
parents/ guardians in order for them not to lose their family
identity and social ties, as much as possible. In order
for you to see some of the children that are supported by
CHILDHOPE-ZAMBIA especially under the sponsorship programme,
